Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Halo (the “app”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What Halo is

Halo is a private, on-device AI assistant for iPhone. It runs locally on your device, has no user accounts, and connects to the services and AI providers you choose using your own credentials. We do not operate backend servers that store or process your personal data.

Your responsibilities

  • Use Halo lawfully and in compliance with the terms of any third-party services and AI providers you connect to it.
  • Keep your device, API keys, and connected credentials secure. Because everything runs on your device, you are responsible for safeguarding access to it.
  • You are responsible for any fees charged by third-party AI providers or services you use through your own keys or subscriptions.

Third-party services

Halo lets you connect to third-party AI models and applications. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service, and connecting them is at your own discretion.

Diagnostics & analytics

We may collect anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage information to improve the app. This data never includes your private content (emails, messages, health data, API keys, or anything Halo reads on your behalf) and cannot be used to identify you personally. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content are owned by Halo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding. Your data and content remain entirely yours.

Disclaimer of warranties

Halo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for reviewing them before relying on them, especially for any automated actions Halo performs on your behalf.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Halo and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of the app or any third-party service connected to it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
